On 3rd December, we have our big “Auction of Promises evening”.
We are raising funds towards the Institute renovation fund – the Institute committee have great plans to improve the facilities available, so we want to support them by raising as much money as we can at this event. We would love to get a really good turnout.
We are asking for donations from you of something that you can offer that is of value to someone - for example, if you are a great gardener, you could offer a few hours of gardening.
On the night, we then auction these promises and the funds raised go to the Institute fund.
We have a very tempting range of promises made so far, including a tour of Kiplin Hall, swimming lessons, bee keeping session, home baked cakes service, etc. and the full list can be seen by clicking here.
The promises range in value, so there should be something to suit everyone’s pockets as well as their interests / needs.
Click here to download a form for you to complete with details of your promise so that it can be included in the auction. Please either return it via the Parish Clerk post box at the Institute or email it to Thorntonsteward@hotmail.com
For anyone who would like to bid for one or more of these promises but can’t attend on the night, you can always place a ‘commission bid’. To do this, please confirm which item(s) you would like to bid for and the amount you are happy to bid up to and we will then ensure that your bids are included in the auction itself. Please email Thorntonsteward@hotmail.com with your bid and the item description and we will take care of the rest.
We will also be holding a raffle on the night, with prizes ranging from vouchers for Campbells, Brymor, House and Home, a cyclamen from Braithwaites, a gift from Theakstons, a hamper etc.
If anyone would like to donate a raffle prize, please drop anything off with Vicky at Cherry Cottage, Caroline at Moorlinch or Alison at Lower Garth.
Raffle tickets will be £1 per ticket. These will be available on he night and also in advance from Vicky, Caroline or Alison, or email Thorntonsteward@hotmail.com and we will sort them out for you.
This should be a great evening with the auction, the raffle and also some fun games with festive prizes for the winners.
Please bring your own drinks and we will provide nibbles on the night.
Looking forward to seeing you on the night. It is a 7pm start.
